Success

Success is the favorable or prosperous termination of attempts or endeavors. One person in my life who I view has obtained a lot of success is my father. I think he is pretty much successful in every part of his life. He has a stable job with a stable income that can support his family. My father is a happy man who enjoys his hobbies of working on cars or hunting in his free time and who enjoys his job and makes good money. My father is the most successful figure within my life. He has a good balance of family, hobbies and work.
My dad is the operations and maintenance manager at a power plant in Cottage Grove. His money is well deserved for the amount of hard work and hours he puts in within a year. I guess many people measure success in the amount of possessions you have and money obtained, but my father is different. He will tell you success is measured in the amount of effort you put in and the amount of happiness and joy you get out of it.
My father is definitely an influential person within my life. If I am lucky enough, I one day hope that I have at least half the success he has gotten in his life. I work hard at everything I do and follow his example in hope that I will turn out a lot like him.

Opinion on Blogging

There are both advantages and disadvantages to doing a blog for your writing class. The freedom of choice is always an advantage. I like that we have the opportunity to do something more modern and have the free will to write about what we want. I love that we can decorate, design, and personalize your own blog instead of just writing out some sort of story or paper on some dry topic and turn it in. If I'm gone for a day it is east to go look at her website and just complete the assignment from home. I feel like since this is my own place to do and create what I want I will put more effort in to it. But with everything, there are also some disadvantages to having to blog for a writing class. Like the fact that you have to have some sort of specific topic to write about. I'm not really sure as to what I want to write about. I have many interest. I don't want to just focus upon one topic. I think I am going to make mine more of a personal blog. The first couple days on blogspot were a bit more difficult. I like that we had the time to explore the site and teach ourselves how to use it. In all I think at some point in the future most writing classes will require you to have a blog. And I like the idea of it being more modern and easy to use and give us new experiences.

A day in the life of me doesn't consist of much. Pretty much it involves waking up early everyday for school, work, community service, or some sort of family event. If it isn't one of those it's always another. I'm always busy, running around, doing errands and running from place to place. Being constantly busy doesn't give me much time to focus on my interest or just me. And that is part of the reason why I had a hard time choosing a topic for my blog. I chose to make it more personal just because I don't really have enough time to have enough interest in something to focus a whole blog upon. I'm still working on finding a way to balance everything. I'm getting there, it shouldn't be long now till I have everything handled and under control.

new car

This weekend I, with my parents, headed down to the Apple Valley GMC and Buick dealership to look around at new cars. My plan was to only get ideas for the future and maybe, if i did find one i like, pay half for the car. But my parents surprised me with buying my a new used car. Not requiring me to chip in half or even on the down payment. They told me it's an early graduation/ Christmas present. This was shocking to me. They had made it quite clear that they would not buy me a car, especially since I am not living at home. I think they finally realized though that I am changing. Each day I grow up just a little bit more, take more responsibility, and become quite independent.
Cars aren't cheap. Though right now is a good time to purchase one with the economy being so bad. Interest rates are down, prices are pretty low. Many people are not looking to buy cars at the moment. So it's easy to bargain the prices down.
I'm fully aware that I got spoiled, and its not like I asked for it. I went in thinking I was just looking, at most paying half, but my parents wont let me. They wanted to give me this present. I'm still chipping in. Making payments to my parents on the insurance, paying for any maintenance it may need, and all the gas that I use.

Connecting with the world (task 1)

Now days the internet is not only used to search those answers to the random questions you ask but to connect with people around the world, and to keep up with current events. Using the internet to connect with family, friends and new people provides an easy opportunity  to socialize. Since the internet does provide easy communication I, myself, have used it to connect with my family within Scotland. Shopping online, watching shows, downloading music, exploring new topics of interest all are easily accessible through the world wide web.

The direction in which I am planning on taking my blog is unclear. I want to focus on the things I'm most interested in. They always say "write about what you know". My blog will probably start out random and all over the place but eventually I'll find that one topic that interest me most that I will want to focus on.
